Bath Skyline Walk

A 6-mile National Trust circular trail through woodlands and hilltop meadows above Bath — past Sham Castle and a Capability Brown panorama.

About

Designed by the National Trust, the Bath Skyline Walk loops around the city through a string of valleys, ancient meadows and beech woods owned and protected by the Trust. The route passes Sham Castle (an 18th-century folly built only as an eye-catcher from Bath itself), the Iron Age hillfort at Solsbury Hill, and views west over the Avon.

The full circuit takes around three hours. Starting points are well marked; an easy short version (about 2 miles) leaves from Bathwick Hill and returns via the National Trust's Bath Skyline meadows.
