The Farmer's Dog

Jeremy Clarkson's country pub — a 17th-century coaching inn at Asthall on the edge of Burford, reopened in August 2024 to serve British-only food and drink.

About

Originally The Windmill Inn, the pub was bought and renamed by Jeremy Clarkson and reopened in August 2024. The kitchen runs on a strict 100% British rule: every ingredient, drink and supplier is from within the United Kingdom.

The setting is the bigger draw — a 17th-century stone pub above the Windrush valley, with gardens that look across to Asthall church. Tables are heavily booked at weekends; a midweek lunch is the easier visit.
