About
Kiftsgate began in the 1920s with Heather Muir, was continued by her daughter Diany Binny, and is run today by her granddaughter Anne Chambers and her husband. Three women, one garden, a hundred years.
The garden's namesake — Rosa filipes 'Kiftsgate' — climbs through a copper beech and is among the largest roses in England, smothered in cream blossom in late June. A modernist water garden, added by Chambers, balances the older borders.
