About
The springs that Romans first piped here in AD 60 were closed to bathing in 1976 after a meningitis scare. They reopened in 2006 in a Nicholas Grimshaw-designed building tucked between Bath's medieval streets — clear glass walls inside, honey-stone façade outside, four floors of pools, steam rooms and treatment suites.
The signature experience is the rooftop pool: open-air, set at 33°C, with views across to Bath Abbey through rising clouds of steam. Best at dusk on a cold day. Adults only; pre-book at peak times.
In Bath
A Roman spa, a Georgian crescent and a literary capital — Bath sits where the Cotswolds meet the West Country.
