One of only seven CCI5* eventing competitions in the world, Badminton Horse Trials runs Wednesday 5 May to Sunday 9 May 2027 on the Duke of Beaufort's estate. Wednesday and Thursday are dressage; the flagship cross-country phase is Saturday, with 30+ fences laid out over 6.5km of Badminton Park; showjumping and prize-giving are Sunday. Provisional dates from the organisers — may shift by a few days when the international schedule is finalised.
Around the sport, Badminton is Britain's biggest 'shopping show' — 500+ trade stands filling the parkland with country wear, tack, art and food. Saturday cross-country day is the peak crowd — 150,000+ attend, and paddock and course sections along the Vicarage Vee and Lake all get shoulder-to-shoulder busy.
