Cirencester Advent Market & Christmas Lights Switch-On 2026

Cirencester's Christmas season opens with a weekend Advent Market of 100+ stalls on the Market Place, plus the town Christmas lights switch-on on the Saturday evening.

About

The Christmas season in Cirencester begins on the weekend of 28–29 November 2026, with the Advent Market spilling across the Market Place from 10am to 6pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday. More than 100 stalls of local producers, festive food and Christmas gifts fill the town centre, and the surrounding shops stay open late for browsing.

The town's Christmas lights are switched on formally on the Saturday evening, with the ceremony traditionally held from the balcony of the Corn Hall and choral music and a countdown in the Market Place beforehand.

Free to attend; parking in Waterloo car park (short walk), or arrive by bus and skip the roadworks. Weekend markets continue through December — see the town council's Christmas programme.
