Snowdrops at Painswick Rococo Garden 2027

Five million snowdrops carpeting Painswick's Rococo Garden — the country's most theatrical private garden opens daily through winter for a six-week bloom.

About

Painswick Rococo Garden opens daily from 18 January to 2 March 2027 for the annual snowdrop season — 5 million snowdrops of dozens of varieties (including the double form Galanthus nivalis 'Flore Pleno' and Galanthus atkinsii) laid out through the follies, along the woodland path and around the plunge pool. The Rococo layout — a rare 1740s survival — makes it the most architecturally interesting snowdrop garden in England.

Open 10am to 5pm daily (last admission 4pm). Advance booking is advised in January and essential through February. A member of the garden team gives a free daily 2pm talk Mon–Fri. Peak bloom is usually early to mid February, though a mild winter can bring it forward.

Café on site; the walk through the beech woods to the exedra is short but steep. Well-behaved dogs on short leads welcome.
