Randwick Wap is a spring revival of a Cotswold custom recorded from at least the 17th century. Held on the first Saturday in May — Saturday 1 May 2027 — the day starts with the newly-elected 'Mayor of Randwick' being chaired through the village on a wooden throne, dunked in the village pond, and finally paraded to the churchyard where a giant Double Gloucester cheese is rolled three times around the church.
The Wap procession is fronted by the Wap Queen and morris dancers; refreshments and stalls are set up in the churchyard. Free to attend. Dates derived from the recurring pattern; confirm with the Randwick Wap committee closer to the day.
