About
Founded in 1969 by a group of villagers, Guiting Music Festival pairs the small village hall and St Michael's Church with marquee stages on the village green for ten days each July. The programme is unusual — string quartets sit on the same bill as New Orleans jazz and bluegrass.
All proceeds support the village hall trust. Tickets sell out months ahead; the festival's mailing list opens in March.
In Guiting Power
A small honey-stone village clustered around a sloping green, watched over by a Norman church and a famous racing pub — quietly preserved by the trust that owns most of it.
