Wilderness has run at the Cornbury estate near Charlbury every August since 2011. The line-up combines live music with long-table banquets cooked by Cotswold and London chefs, lake-swimming in the parkland lakes, talks programmes, theatre, and a small but well-curated art trail.
It is camping-only; the festival is family-friendly during the day and louder at night. Tickets go on sale the previous October and the cheapest tier sells out by Christmas.

A working market town on the edge of the ancient Wychwood forest, with an unusually good independent restaurant scene and a direct train to London.
