The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway's annual Diesel Gala, 24–26 July 2026 across the full 14-mile line from Cheltenham Racecourse via Winchcombe and Toddington up to Broadway. Twelve locomotives are booked to work an intensive timetable: BR Classes 20, 25, 27 and 35 from the home fleet, plus visiting motive power including Class 45 No. 45149. Sunday's schedule is a special tribute to the Pathfinder Railtours enthusiast tours, with six locomotives rostered that once worked Pathfinder trains.
Behind-the-scenes access opens up the Diesel Shed, the Carriage and Wagon Works and the Signal & Telegraph Department during gala hours. Live entertainment, model railway displays and refreshments at Toddington, Winchcombe and Cheltenham Race Course stations. A free shuttle bus runs between Cheltenham Spa and Cheltenham Race Course on Friday and Saturday.
Tickets: one-day adult £36 / child £17 / family £98; two-day £58 / £27; three-day rover £79 / £37. Advance booking strongly recommended — the diesel gala is one of the busiest weekends of the GWSR year.
