Moreton-in-Marsh Summer Fayre 2026

An afternoon in Queen Victoria Gardens marking 800 years since Moreton's market charter — medieval re-enactment, a knights' procession, food from the Black Bear, and a community programme of fifteen local groups.

About

Moreton-in-Marsh's summer fayre marks the 800th anniversary of the town's market charter, granted in 1226. The afternoon at Queen Victoria Gardens features the House of Twin-Tailed Lion re-enactment group with medieval combat and living-history displays, a Knight School for the kids, and a fire-pit cooking demonstration with food tasting.

Headline turn is the Knights' Procession, leaving the town centre at 11am and processing to the Gardens. On site: animals from Old Dorn Farm, market vendors, drinks from Moreton Cricket Club, food by the Black Bear Inn, the Scouts Grand Raffle and Tombola, and the Moreton Rangers Human Fruit Machine — fifteen local community groups in total.

Free entry. A family day in the heart of the Cotswolds, marking eight centuries of Moreton's market history.
