About
Sudeley changed hands three times during the English Civil War, was besieged and finally slighted by Parliamentary forces in 1649 — history that makes it the natural home for one of the region's best-attended Civil War weekends.
The 15–16 August 2026 event brings a full living-history village to the castle grounds, with re-enactors demonstrating musket, matchlock and pike drills, camp life and cavalry tactics — culminating in a scripted skirmish across the afternoon. All activities are included with normal castle admission.
